My name is Tricia McCormick and I am one of the FAC (Functional Academic Classroom) teachers at Round Rock High School. I am grateful to be a part of the Dragon community and look forward to a year filled with learning, exploration, problem solving, and success!
I am an Arizona State University graduate and am dually certified with a Bachelor’s degree in both Special Education and Elementary Education. I am beginning my ninth year of teaching special education, and am very passionate about creating a positive and structured learning environment where students are encouraged to become lifelong learners. I love creating unique ways to differentiate academic and social instruction, collaborating with the families of my students, and implementing hands-on learning experiences for all learners.
I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (yes, I am a huge football fan!), but my family and I recently relocated to Austin to become a part of the world class school district - RRISD. I am married to my wonderful husband who is also an educator in RRISD and we have two precious little girls; Ava (3) and Olivia (1). In my free time you can definitely find me loving on my sweet family, crafting and refinishing wood decor for my house and soaking up Austin’s beautiful outdoor excursions in the sunshine!
Parent/teacher communication plays a vital part in your student’s educational learning experience and I welcome any opportunity to collaborate. The most efficient way to contact me regarding questions, feedback or concerns is via email. Let’s make 2017-2018 a wonderful year!
Best Regards,
Mrs. McCormick
